What else do you do when you've got nothing to do.

@ 12:45pm our computer systems went down. No email, no internet, no network folders…no nothing. It is now 1:35pm. I have been sitting, walking, moving, talking, texting and reading my way out of boredom and frustration that I cannot get the simple work done I was planning to accomplish after my lunch hour.

I have turned to my last three hopes: 1. calling my sister to harass her about how her weekend at her bfs parents’ house went, 2. to listen to some catchy tunes, and 3. to write a blog with good old Microsoft word, of course, since I cannot access my blog. Honestly, this is one those few times when I don’t feel my usually strong desire to blog at work…lol: you love it when you can’t have it, but once you get it, you’re fucking bored. (*story of my life*)

I have great guy friends here at work and I'm very thankful for them, they keep me sane and happy throughout my days here. But does anyone else notice how when you put some males together and they get to talking, they morph into this single annoying creature? And you tolerate it because you know that they are normally descent and respectful and funny and good people, but while it’s happening you kind of just step back and leave them to it? That happens with a lot of my guy friends I find, they are great by themselves but put them in the presence of a certain male counterpart and it’s like adding vinegar to baking soda. (That's Colin on the left btw, and Brendon on the right, two of my good work buddies, and the two that specifically brought on today's rant)

Here are a few songs I think everyone will appreciate: (I got them from this lovely blog Sometimes sweet, probably my favorite blog to read from someone I do not know personally.)

Backlit - Isis
Skeletons – Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Table for glasses – Jimmy Eat World
Boats and birds – Gregory and the hawk

Give them a little listen if you care to, or are feeling a lapse of boredom from the work you are doing, whether it be paid work or else studying up for that upcoming final. She boasts an excellent play list which I have been repeating at work for the past few days, good mind cleanse, keeping my thoughts from stirring into places they don’t need to go and that are unhealthy.

Speaking of health Yoga class tonight at 7:15pm: I love yoga, it is one of those things that just make you feel so much better no matter what kind of mood you are in. If you are lucky enough to get a good teacher, I have had two; they basically hypnotize you into a state of pure calm and bliss, convinced of a world free of pain, worries, and unkind thoughts, leaving your mind in utter peace and revival. Mmmmm, Namaste.

PS check out my ballin new glasses.

It is now 2:43pm: just talked to my momma on the phone. She is sick :( she sounded just awful! I am going to bring her home chicken and or beef broth tonight <3.

It is now 3:37pm, and our connections have just been reestablished. i confess i have been watching how i met your mother on my iPod since my last check in. now it's back to the grind (almost time to go tho WOO)

Downtown cash drop!

So I've been meaning to get downtown to do a little shopping for quite a while now. This past Saturday I finally got my chance: I went to the "Downtown Cash Drop", which is basically a once a year event where the city of fredericton gets the local fire department to drop garbage bags full of redeemable 'downtown dollars' and various other coupons onto the anticipating crowd below.

There was a Santa Claus! also free hot chocolate, apple cidar and cookies from the Happy Baker

Here are the fire fighters going up, up, UP

Shot of the awaiting masses

I ended up catching $10 downtown dollars, $2 for room 2 remember and a coupon booklet.

I then took my good ol'time walking around to all the stores i was interested in. I went to Garden of Bead'in and signed up for a free earring making class for Thursday. They sell all the supplies to make jewelry and offer any kind of jewelry making class imaginable so then you can come back, buy supplies and be able to make your own. Very neat.
Mostly I just browsed, and when I had gone everywhere I went to Second Cup and got this:

A delicious hot chocolate and a cupcake from the 'Frosted' company that sells them at the market (who knew they sold them there? good news for you Roro)

I arrived home to THIS:

My dad hard at work painting the kitchen and dining room a beautiful sea blue turquoise. it looks great with the white cupboards and appliances, and grey trim around the porch doors. it's also a giant leap from the space grey color aka white that our entire house has been for the past 20 years. now our living room is a creamy eggshell color and our bathroom is newly tiled. i love house revamping! I also put up our christmas lights today, so now we're not the only dark house in the neighborhood. gotta love the christmas spirit around here.

blog catchup for Friday December 4th 2009

friday friday friday. it was a good day as work days go, a little low key. i was in a pretty unemotional, nonchalent, whatever mood, getting work done!

OH - probably should discuss what happened the night before in sj: we had the day meeting at the fort howe hotel and it was alright, interesting, long, but i was sitting beside brendon so that was fun. we just commented the whole time..it was like good old summer times when we used to sit together at work. Anyways, thank goodness i brought my gps with me to find this place. even tho i knew where it was via word of mouth and mapquest, i thought i should bring it in case of emergency. fortunately i did, since 3 cars in front of me there was a huge accident on the bridge! the car actually landed horizontally blocking the exit i was supposed to be taking...:| odds of this happening....small. so i had to merge back onto the rush hour traffic bridge and the gps guided me through a detour which i would have never figured out on my own. Thanks Willow <3

the night was girly, awesome and completely boy free: me and jen went to old navy (where i bought many sale items and even got a tshirt for .47 cents), winners (where i bought a new pair of sneakers: this ones for you b)
Eastside Marios for delicious pasta salad and bread, McAlister mall for awesome hard to find hair products (Bed Head AfterParty) and finally hit the 8:45 showing of New Moon in the stadium theatre. We went home and watched National Lampoons christmas vacation on amc while i tried on outfits for the next day wooop wooop!

so, i had a great night! here's the hitch: (theres always a hitch) i sent a txt to colin asking him if he wanted to get dinner with me and jen. no response (quel surprise, dumbass) anywho, no big deal.

drove to work Friday from sj! beautiful, sunny morning, me my sunglasses and sing along songs in the car. then here comes the work day...dont even know what happened to colin but he was like, completely ass kissing. he was probably the nicest and friendliest to me that he ever has been.

as per normal i asked him about caf lunch and he said yeah, but he had to do two things first. so i was like oh well im going then cuz im staaaaarving. not even paying attention to the time and a bit later he comes over to my desk being like ready? i was like uhh...ok. he took me on a detour to drop a drawing off. i was waiting outside the trailer thinking he would be right out. sitting on a concrete parking divider with my hood up on my sweet new shirt and my aviator shades. just thinking about how stupid this is and why he is so nice now and what am i doing to myself, and about 7 min later WHY THE FUCK am i sitting here outside in the cold in a parking lot waiting for him?! i book it to the warm caf and get in line for some din din. as im paying he walks in gives me this wtf look and tells me to wait for him. we walk back and he asks me about my night in sj, i feel like it's a good time to be like oh how was your night not answering my text? basically tell him that that was the last time i will ever text him and he is all like what? waaaah. i didnt get it til later, why is that the last time you will text me? i want you to text me. blah blah blah stupid boy talking blah blah. i just keep it cool, hitting him back with sarcastic remark after sarcastic remark, as per normal. im just over it and his dumb behaviour. he can flirt at work as much as he wants, i mean it's fun, and keeps the days from lagging, but this outside of work bullshit joke is done, until he grows up and makes up his mind. it's all good and i am good with it. he's like my personal justin bobby and im his kristen. maybe at the end of our season he'll finally smarten up.

work break.

I feel the need to write a blog but I also feel the need to do it conspicuously, so I am first writing it in word then will transfer it! HA ha! This information is irrelevant to everyone reading but I’m telling ya anyways so shaaatup. I have had a pretty solid work day so far so I don’t feel too bad about taking a couple minutes for myself. Today has gone on as usual work days do, but it is different somehow, like there is an upbeat feel in the air….

Brendon made it to lunch today (:D yay) and he brought a friend, mike, with him which was a lovely surprise. Mike works at head office in Fredericton but is doing a couple odd jobs up here this week so is staying with Brendon. What else, what else. Oh yes, then my desk buddy is here sitting behind me, and he is in good mood today and not stressing out. We have been discussing the trailer bunny and different ways I can smuggle him off the property. He just threw a mitten at me, MY mitten specifically. I wonder if he knows he’s being written about…?

Me and Colin have been having an especially good day, talking a lot and joking. He touched my hand when he walked by my desk earlier, which was strange since he never walks by my desk and has never touched my hand like that before. It was…nice?

OK, confession time: I am planning another SJ sleepover this Thursday night with my adorable friend Jen Bunny. We have both sworn that we are going to have a girly night, full of boy gossip, but no actual boys. Well, at least not our two in particular. We’ll see how well that turns out. I will be driving up to SJ tomorrow myself to attend a big group meeting for our department that is being held at the Fort Howe Hotel. I figured since I will already be in town and I will have my own car, (no $16 cabs for me this time Saint John, fuck you!) I might as well use it. I plan on coming into work Friday as well to get in a little banked time I can use over Christmas when my sisters come home!!! Good thing about that is for once I get to choose when to come in, when to leave, what radio station to listen to aka MY iPod, the temperature of the car, etc, etc. Pure bliss.

Back to my confession, I was not, I repeat NOT planning on telling a certain someone (cough colin cough) that I would be in sj for another night. Unfortunately, it sort of slipped out yesterday. Me and my mouth, right. I was telling him how I was planning on driving down, and then that I was working Friday as well on my day off. You’re driving down twice? He exclaimed. No I’m staying at Jens again. (oh, Freudian slip.) (did everyone like how I turned that into a bit of a novel there? I should write a book :P)

Yupp, so the cat is out of the bag. It’s good tho, I think. The way I see it is now that he knows I’ll be around, we’ll just see how he plays it out. And if nothing happens then I will be like Whateve mo fucker! And continue on avec la vie.

And please don’t think I’ve forgotten about his little ‘I love you too’ on the phone last week. I surely will not and I know he has a serious asshole/coward/immaturity complex. To shield myself from such further overhearings, everytime he gets a phone call I immediately put on my headphones and change it to a loud song, even if it’s to do with work. I’d rather not hear anything. It’s none of my business anyways and I don’t even care.

(liiiiiieeeeeees)

FML, lol. Love love.

Shout out to my favorite little lady. She knows who she is <3.
